Silage and the cows that eat it.............

While the guys were cutting silage Tooties and I were on cow duty!
I think we only found one new calf the days we checked.
The yearlings come up to the fence to say hi ,what's ya doin:)
 Here's where you get out!
 Are you sure?
 bye:(
Some days my neck feels like this!!!
We had 3 different guys that cut for us. One opened the fields, one started cutting when the guys that usually do it couldn't come for a couple more days.
Here's the start of the pile.

 We are still on duty!

The guys got alot done with Kim's cutter.

Then Eric's big guns roll in!!!

3 trucks hauling kept Jared and Greg busy on the pile.
Another silage cutting in the books.........JMF

Plants and trunk show...............

Greg helped me re pot my aloe and my jade plant the other day. I got the aloe in Texas in Feb of 2007 almost 8 years ago!!!
It was a 2 man job they are both getting so big, it's to handle them alone.
I went to the Brookings guild's salad supper and trunk show. Anita Johnson from MN. showed her quilts. Lots of nice ones I just picked my favorites. The plaid one was made from western shirts of her mom's friend.
She had all colors and types of quilts.

There she is, she made her jacket and showed a couple others she made.
We were sitting off to the side and it was hard to get good pictures.

One of her favorite colors is orange and she had a lot of quilts with orange in them.
The next ones were from the serenity line of fabric and I really liked all of them.
So pretty and lots of work.

That's all for now I have some sewing of my own to get done..............JMF

Bomb winner and so much more!!!

I love it when someone asks me to make them a quilt!! My SIL John needed a new quilt that's all I needed to hear and I started thinking of what fabric I had that would make a nice man's quilt. The last one I made him was 16 years ago and it was pretty well worn out. That's the way I think it should be I want my quilts to be used, so I can make more!!
My neighbor Kay quilted it and I love how it turned out.

I used mostly my stash  and I could make several more! I bought the sashing and found  half of the backing on sale.
The other half is a plain brown.
This is an awful picture I will have to take another one someday when I'm at their place.
We were checking cows the other day and these cranes were hanging out with the cows.

 so were the copperheads.
Time to get your ear pierced. At least he has a professional piercing  guy I had another girl from high school and a potato behind my ear ouch!!!
Made this on a whim the other day.
 Love the horse block.
 This is the back.
Oh the winner of the bomb is Cuki from South Africa!! Congrats I have already emailed her so her package will be on it's way soon........................JMF
