Aprons and cows................

I made 2 of these little girl aprons for my nephews daughters. I used different fabric on the back side so they could tell them apart.
I hadn't made any for awhile and forgot how fun they are to make:)

When I was making the girls their aprons I got a request to make one for a birthday gift. She likes purple so I found this fabric and a couple of coordinating purples for the back, pockets and ruffles.
 I hope she likes it.
Most days I see a robins sitting on the tip of the branches of these trees most of the time they are on the top one.
A week ago we moved the cows to the calving pasture..
I'ts a little more than a mile walk for them. they took their time and they behaved nicely! Turned right in when they got to the gate.

We got them there just in time. Lots of calves born already a few sets of twins, so far so good.
Back to the aprons this one goes to the mom of the 2 little girl aprons. She loves to bake and makes the best cupcakes!!
I found these cute tags so each apron got one.
I decorated each box with their name. Then stacked them up and tied them together!
I hope they enjoy them as much as I did making them:)
Until next time....................JMF

This with a little of that and an apron or 2................

Sarah sent me a request for an apron made out of the leg of a blue jean. This is the first one I made, I used a pair of my jeans. It was to narrow for a adult so I gave it to Rachel.

I used Greg's jeans for this one and it was just right. As I look at this picture I think I cut the first one out wrong!!  That's why it turned out to narrow oh well it will work for Rachel!!

The calves are all settled down in their new home:)
They have all the feed and water they want. Someone to give them silage every morning, shade in the afternoon no complaints here.
Caught me with feed on my nose:)
I can still see you there...why are you taking so many pictures???

We have  a guy that walks through us every night to check us for any trouble, and if he finds anyone that's not feeling the best he makes us better in no time:)

 Lazy afternoon.
I made this bag for a  garden gal we visited last week and when I say garden I mean GARDENS!!!!
We came home with potatoes, squash, peppers pumpkins and more.
Sarah's pumpkin made  from stuff around the farm. Pretty cute:)
I've  been getting a few eggs from Lucas' chickens they are getting to good a hiding them tho!!
I guess the buffalo are on a fall calving schedule too. We now have 3 new calves.

Hope they get to get alittle bigger before it gets to cold.
Geese are flying over head most evenings.
Yesterday's dust storm it was something else. John, Lucas and I got caught out in it on the 4 wheeler.
Greg's family had family pictures taken a  few weeks ago.......here we are!!! I'll share a few more later..................JMF

Some Christmas projects

I made this table runner for Carrie for Christmas. I was a quilt as you go and I did it in one afternoon!!
I think  it took me longer to decide on the backing than to sew it.
This is what I ended up with.
I made this apron for my secret pal in the Belleview Birthday Club. Some day I will have to write more about the club it has been going since the 1950s I think.
One night the phone rang and it Tara calling to tell me she had worn the apron at her son's birthday party and it was a big hit. It's always nice to know when someone likes what you made. Thanks Tara, and thanks Dan for the shirt:)
I made this bag for another friend Sue because she wore her first one out!!
Here is our wild cat. Greg thought it should have a better shelter behind the house. I think I tipped the tub over to put corn on for the birds, anyway he cut a hole put alittle hay in it and now it's the cat house:) I told him as long as it continues to be wild he can stay!!
Looking for corn. It's in the bucket.
One day before Christmas Mike, Sue and I delivered beef roasts to the food pantry in Wesstington Springs. We are members of the SD Cattlemen's Aux and it is one of our projects.
They were pretty happy and thankful for the beef.
We were so important that we got an escort out of town:) Not really just happened to get behind him, and then we wouldn't let Mike pass him so we followed him for quite awhile.....................JMF

Birthday present...

It was our DIL's birthday yesterday so  I made supper for them. I also made this messenger bag for her. I got the fabric at the Nuts and bolts fabric  shop in Edgemont SD. A few posts back I think I told about us being at the Stock Show and one day we dragged the guys on a several hour trip!!!! At least I made something with one of the yards of fabric I bought!!!
I quilted the heck out of the front and back panel like bobbins full of thread quilting!!! It was just fun mindless sewing:)

The back of the book bag for the Librarian.
I think this is the first store bought  apron I have given her. I love it.
This is the first time I got a picture of both of our wild cats. They better stay wild  cus ones a boy and ones a girl. Greg said they were getting alittle too friendly with each other.....................................wild kittens?????????........JMF
