Region 3&7 Cattlewomen meeting

I attended the Cattlewomen meeting that was held at Joy Ranch north east of Watertown last week. Our Aux president Laurie did a wonderful job of putting it all together.
Pretty flowers and candy!! at the tables.
On Thursday afternoon some of the ladies did these cow paintings I didn't get a picture of all of them. They were so cute:)
If I remember right she was from PA. we had ladies from Missouri, NE, MN, ND, and Iowa.
I took a bunch of pictures of the decor I just loved it and my pictures just don't do justice to how neat it was.

We had a good bib day sold 26 and they are going all over!!!

I gals from quilt guild go here for retreats and they love it now I know why.
 The quilt room.

This was a the buffalo room.
Most all of the furnishing were donated, if not all.

She was taller than me...ok don't laugh I know I'm short.
A good use of these big spools.

How fun a outdoor fire place in fact there were 2 of them.
 The back of the building.
The front or street side of it has all these western store fronts.
Cowboy Canopy...I had a good time a learned a few things along the way. We had great speakers but my favorite one was V.J. Smith from Brookings that wrote the book The Richest Man in Town.
I think all in all a good time was had by all and Laurie was probably  exhausted but pleased how it turned out...........JMF.

New apron and rain..............

I had an order for a apron and here she is all done!!! I can't remember when I last made one, it was so fun to pick out the fabric, and see it come to life. I had all the fabric, the gray striped is a soft lightweight fabric and I wasn't sure what I would do with it. Love it in the apron. The floral I only had a 1/2 yard and used every bit of it. I loved that fabric the picture just doesn't show how cute it is. I put a little crochet lace on the bottom of that ruffle. I forgot how fun they were to make!! I hope the recipient loves it too. Sorry about the roll of batting in the background of the pic:) here is the link to the free pattern.        Ruffled apron
We did get some much needed rain this week and last night a little hail too.
It didn't hurt anything which was a good thing:).......................JMF

Landscaping with alittle sewing...........

These are a few of the zipper pouches I made awhile ago.
I have a few more I want to make for Christmas presents.
Tip your head to the right and you can see the sewing machine on this quilt as you go mug rug!!! I haven't figured out how to rotate a picture here:(
We finally got the landscaping done around the house. Well not us but the guys from James Valley Nursery in Mitchell.

We just laid the wheel and big branch there will figure out later something else to do with them.
I left a small space for planets.
 Sammy the seagull kite...........

Morning shadow on the newly updated old building:)
Some before pics I unchecked my pictures and rechecked them from the bottom up and then added them to the blog. So the first is last. kindof of like the sideways pics I'm not going back and doing it all over again............. I have sewing I could be doing instead!!!!!!!!!!

they took out the sod and made some nice gentle curves so it will be easy to mow around.

If I was a professional blogger I would have before and after pics together.
 but I'm not...LOL

Our bushes were half dead so out they go.
 Boy these before are bad..........
I guess you just get used to the way things are and after awhile you don't even notice how bad it looks.
These trees started dying last year and this year it was all over for them.
Greg hauled in dirt last fall and now they have it all sloped down and seeded down to grass I just need to keep it watered.
Our next project is to put mulch around the trees in the yard. We bought the mulch now Greg and I have to get it done..............JMF
