Modern quilt for the Bloggers Quilt Festival

This is something new for me a quilt as you go. It was really fun:)
I won the jellyroll so that made it even better.
The pattern is in the book Quilt As-You_Go by Jera Brandvig. I got my on sale at Connecting Threads.
I used the whole jelly roll. The pillow was a wrong cut on one of the blocks!!

I am entering it in the modern  quilt category  at the Blogger's Quilt Festival
Thanks to Amy we get to see all the beautiful quilts in one place....JMF

Blogger's Quilt Festival........................

First things first A big thank you to Amy at Amy's Creative Side for hosting the Blogger's Quilt Festival!!

This fall I am entering Tatanka the pattern is by JoAnn Hoffman. I bought mine as a kit at the Hill City Mercantile in Hill City South Dakota.

The fabrics in the kit are all gradation light to dark.
The fabric is so cool these buffalo are only 2 pieces 3 with the horn, but looks like lots of different pieces.
This is my light table:) It works, plus the TV is right by!

Got my circle cut. It is 42 inches.
I traced  and cut out  all the pieces before I ironed anything on.

The people in the tepee are ironed on to the front but looks like they are inside around a fire!!
The inspiration, our own buffalo. I tried it on the orange wall and we didn't like it, so got moved to the brown one. Please take alittle time to visit the festival and voting will open soon so go back and vote for your favorite. I have one more quilt to enter. Then in a week or so I will be celebrating my 4th anniversary of my blog!! There will be prizes:)...............JMF

Fall happening...............

Greg asked me the other day why his deer heads aren't on the blog yet?? The one on the right is his new one. Actually he shot it several years ago and only kept the antlers, so he asked Eric from Feldhaus Taxidermy to mount it for him. Greg is very pleased with it, some of the horns needed alittle repair and it turned out great.
Lucas and I checked the fall calving cows a few times in the last few weeks when the guys were combining, and  weaning calves.
We had some good laughs and checked out the blinds and decoys of whoever is hunting that water pond.

We spied their boat and I said we should take it for a ride if I can get it started... no we didn't:)
Their are 2 blinds out there so we had to check them out. We discussed the finer points of decoys like the cost... alot $$ according to Lucas!
In between checking blinds, and duck stories we looked  for new calves which we didn't find, but found some that were out in the corn so we got them back in.
 asleep on the job...
Then we rode in the combine for a few rounds.

I guess the pictures are not in order.
The calves have been eating their blind:)
How do you like my new wall hanging??? Maybe Carrie won't read this.
She bought the panel at the new quilt shop in Huron, and I got it together.
The birds, leaves and sunflower are 3d makes it pretty cute. Maybe Carrie can have it next fall!
My birthday was months ago, but just got this stagecoach birdhouse from Sue. I love it and it looks so nice there. Lucas agrees with me no birds are going to poop on it:)...............JMF
