John's quilt...............

This quilt is back to front!
I used the same cow fabric for the  back of John and Lucas quilts so had to add left over fabric from the front to each of them.
Here's the front. This is John's quilt he is our cow man, and our 3rd grandson.  He has helped with the cows, checking at calving, writing tags, feeding bottle calves. Oh and riding bottle calves, but that didn't end so well..... broken arm! More times than I want to count either John or Lucas are left with us while the other one goes to the emergency room casts and stitches later they still go to fast and furious for this Grandma. I think I have worn out the words BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!
John loves to read, play piano, dogs and puppies, ride horses, his bike, hunt, and anything to do with livestock.
We love you Johnny and are so proud of you. What a wonderful boy you are:).................JMF

Dane's Quilt

This quilt belongs to our 2nd grandchild Dane Oscar! He is Kordell's brother. Dane has a quick smile and a twinkle in his eye:) He loves to hunt, ride horses, read, and plays the piano. He is in 3rd grade.

It's hard to see but the back is cowboy hat fabric. I made up the pattern for the quilt. I really enjoyed making these quilts, and thought alot about the kids as I was making them.
We love you Dane and are so proud of you. You are a wonderful boy.
Love always Grandma......JMF

Kordell's Quilt

I'm starting with the first grandchild's quilt. Kordell Matthew is our first grandchild. We were so excited when he was born and everyday after that! He was so cute (still is). We just couldn't get enough of him everything he did was just so special.
The pattern was from a Fons and Porter magazine. The center panel came from equilter.com. Sorry the pictures are not that good:(
Now Kordell is in 5th grade and he loves school, reading, riding horses, and his music. He plays the piano and trombone. I love to hear him play the piano he has a God given talent for it. That is why the music fabric for the back of his quilt.
So here's the 1st of 7. We love you Kordell and are so proud of you. You are such a wonderful boy:)
hugs and kisses from grandma.............JMF

Pillows...............

Mary emailed me pictures and asked me to make pillows for their sons as part of their Christmas present. This is Jason's the pillow and the long horn! Of the 3 this is my favorite!
This is Jared's ( I'm sure he was named after my Jared!) This one didn't turn out to bad either. I had just the right color of yellow for the piping makes the 4 wheeler pop!
Of course this is Peyton Joey's dog (except when Mary steals her away!) I know you love her Mary:)
I enjoyed making them hope the boys like them too. I can always refund your money if I get the pillows back!!
The kids are coming home tomorrow for our Christmas can't wait.....JMF

Blog hop winner and card.

I joined a Handmade card swap and this is the card. Notice I used some fabric from the pillow for the blog hop last week that Sallie from Texas won!! I never got an email so I must not have won anything darn-it:) I'm glad the pillow went to Texas it seemed fitting.
Back to the card I'm not really a card/scrapbook person I want to be but wanting and being are 2 different things...I can admit it:) alittle iron on fabric and glued on buttons, and that's my card. I went to Chantelle in Alabama. I will be getting one from her.
Coming next Tue 12 posts about the stuff I couldn't put on til after Christmas......to be continued....JMF

The pictures download backwards the first is the last one, so you will have to keep reading to the  to get to the beginning! ( I know it doesn't make any sense) Ok so this is the back of the pillow.

Birds, Butterball, cows, bingo and food!!!!

We are getting quite a herd of bluejays!! Fun to watch.
That's our Johnny and Butterball or B dog for short the 4H show calf. We were so proud of them at the Feeder Calf show last Fri. They got 2nd in the 4H and the open class. This is John's first year and he is so lucky to get such a tame calf maybe we will have to start calling him the calf whisperer:)
Our quilt guild Christmas party last night.  We played quilt bingo, and went for blackout.
First we had potluck supper very very good.
We used candy to mark our cards! It was kind of mean tho cus we had just stuffed ourselves at supper so we couldn't make ourselves eat the candy. I only needed one more to get blackout  but the gal across the table from me got it first.
We had to "pay" for our bingo cards with a fat quarter for 1 card. The winner got to pick out half of them!!!!!!!!!!
Still moving cows around. The longer they can eat cornstalks and covercrop the better.
The fall calves and cows came up to the fence when the other cows came by but soon got bored and moved on.
A few cows came towards us and I couldn't get them all stopped but these are going the right way. I didn't get in to much trouble I just heard "Get the car up to the corner COME ON!!!!!!!!! so I did:)
All's well that ends well.................JMF
