Blogger's quilt festival.

I am linking up to the Blogger's quilt festival you can find it here Festival

I have shared this quilt before it was made with my Christmas presents from Jared's and Carrie's families.
 Quilted by Kay Becker.

Over the summer I made a bunch of these little bags.
 Just because I guess:)
2 aprons for 2 cute little boys:)
I have made lots of aprons but hadn't made any for a long time so it was fun to make some again.

These are Rachel and Ellie's bags.

This was a sampler quilt we made in the quilt guild I belong to. I just made the blocks and left the boarders.
It's on the chair or on the table.
We have 8 buffalo calves this year. That's all for now hope to be back soon. I have no reason for not blogging all summer!!...JMF

New babies and more.................

All the new bulls were delivered a few weeks ago.
Our first buffalo calf!!! Even tho I want Greg to sell them it's fun to see the babies:)
 so cute
I made this along time ago and always wished it had more contrast in the hind quarter!
I need to refold all the quilts in the cupboard.
 I'm taking volunteers.
I laid some out to relax before folding them up again. I think I will do that with the rest of them.
I just caught these ducks before the took off.
A fall cow with the shape of Texas (sort of) on her face:)
These guys were wondering why I keep walking up and down the road every night.

I was checking cows the other day by myself so I could stop and take as many pictures as I wanted.
That little guy stays close to mom...........
Thankful for the rain today 1 inch!!!...............jmf

Sheep, Cattle, and Buffalo and my!!!!!

Our grandson John wanted some ewes to lamb out. After alot of checking Craigslist and some begging his dad he bought 4 bred ewes! This old girl had triplets it took alot out of her and she took a few days to get going again. She is up and running now.
He ended up with 7 lambs. These are the first lambs at their place in many years. My aunt and uncle raised sheep on this farm for many years. I plan on printing a picture out for Arlene, I'm sure it will bring back lots of memories for her.
They are a wild bunch. The ewes came from Wy so not to used to people:)
The back pen has his bottle lambs.
The weather has been great for walking so I took my camera with me the other day.
In a few days all these girls need to go to the calving pasture. We have had 2 calves already. One this morning, John spotted it on their way to school, and called Greg's cell to tell him about it that it was up but looked wet and cold. Mom and calf are in the barn now.
Greg locked the buffalo up and even though they have plenty of room and feed they want to go back to the other side of the fence. It's always greener you know:)
I think they just check everyday to see if the gate is open.
One of the fall calves soon they will be weaned and their mom's will be checked to see if they will have calves again in the fall. A farmer/ranchers work is never done......................JMF

This with a little of that and an apron or 2................

Sarah sent me a request for an apron made out of the leg of a blue jean. This is the first one I made, I used a pair of my jeans. It was to narrow for a adult so I gave it to Rachel.

I used Greg's jeans for this one and it was just right. As I look at this picture I think I cut the first one out wrong!!  That's why it turned out to narrow oh well it will work for Rachel!!

The calves are all settled down in their new home:)
They have all the feed and water they want. Someone to give them silage every morning, shade in the afternoon no complaints here.
Caught me with feed on my nose:)
I can still see you there...why are you taking so many pictures???

We have  a guy that walks through us every night to check us for any trouble, and if he finds anyone that's not feeling the best he makes us better in no time:)

 Lazy afternoon.
I made this bag for a  garden gal we visited last week and when I say garden I mean GARDENS!!!!
We came home with potatoes, squash, peppers pumpkins and more.
Sarah's pumpkin made  from stuff around the farm. Pretty cute:)
I've  been getting a few eggs from Lucas' chickens they are getting to good a hiding them tho!!
I guess the buffalo are on a fall calving schedule too. We now have 3 new calves.

Hope they get to get alittle bigger before it gets to cold.
Geese are flying over head most evenings.
Yesterday's dust storm it was something else. John, Lucas and I got caught out in it on the 4 wheeler.
Greg's family had family pictures taken a  few weeks ago.......here we are!!! I'll share a few more later..................JMF
