Christmas Tree skirt.

My daughter in law Sarah said she would like a tree skirt for Christmas. I searched the Internet, pinterest and google but didn't find anything I liked. I remembered I had bought a book and I thought it might have one in it. The book is Adoration Quilts by Rachel W. N Brown published by That Patchwork Place. I notice on the inside cover it said Julie Feldhaus 2006! This is the first thing I made from it. The pic above was taken in Aug, and the last pics were taken on Christmas day after it had been finished for a few hours!!!
I bought the fabric for the background at the Pin Cushion in Mitchell. All the rest came from my stash.
I really did love having a project to work on in the evenings while watching TV. I hand button hole stitched around each piece. Except one of the angels halo I notice as I was quilting it no button hole stitch on it, so I just stitched it down as I quilted. Cheater Cheater!!!!
There are 28 sheep and it was so fun picking out fabric for them. I figured back then they didn't have purebred sheep so they are all colors!!

I quilted some of the panels as a quilt as you go but some had to be sewed together because there was a donkey or a goat on the seam. If I ever make another one I think I will put it all together and then quilt it. Plus I will read the instructions real good!! And that's all I have to say about that:)

I hate when the pictures are one way on my pictures and then I load them to here and they do that....
 One of my favorite sheep.

Here it is all done hey!!!!
Next time it's my gifts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!JMF

Christmas and sewing.............

I have one more to make. Cattle brand pillow.
I got them done Paula!! They were fast and easy. I gave one to Sue for Christmas and the other one will be on the end table by my chair:)
I guess I didn't need to go to the Capitol to see awesome Christmas trees. These were in our own Courthouse.
So many pretty and clever tress.
 Loved the old game tree!
 American Legion.
Have your elf and merry little Christmas.........so so cute.
Angus tree if only I would have had a Charolais in my pocket it would have been on that tree before I left!!!
I got our wildlife tree up the other day.
My new ornament even tho it's not hunting it got a place on the tree. Thanks Sue:)
Merry Christmas........JMF

Geese at the Capitol and aprons...

There are so many geese that live at the Capitol.

They were even on the lawns across the road.
The Governor's mansion. I posted last summer about our tour of it. I wish they had Christmas tours again.
 More dolls and aprons.

I tell myself to quit making them, but then somehow Amazon sent  me a book on vintage aprons with patterns the other day. I guess Amazon is an enabler!!! I need an intervention:)

Christmas at the Capitol....

We went to Pierre Tue to see the trees at the Capitol.
The theme was The Great Outdoors.
 Was it ever GREAT:)

They had so many tumble weeds they were so pretty all flocked  in white! That sounds wrong but it looked great!!
 Fun marshmallow wreath.
The antler tree. Greg said " you got pictures of the antler tree didn't you?"

Cat tails gone to seed.  cool
Milk weed they are good for more than the butterflies:)
Every farmer knows what this is. Greg said he has lots of these maybe we will have to have a Grandkid painting day.
Then Gary said I suppose I will be cutting up a branch one of these days. These were from a Art class.

The one below was our favorite. A neat idea for a church tree. We bring ornaments to put on our tree at church I might have to have Greg cut us a couple. Then he would have to do the writing so it could be read!! I'm sorry Mrs Anderson but I hated penmanship. I hated that little green book we had to practice writing in.

See Charlene we have the same pic, but I want the real thing to hang on my tree!
Another good grandkid project. I could see them making them with the pictures of themselves with their deer or rabbit or whatever.
 Extreme close up.

The picture doesn't do the big tree justice. The eagle looked so real up on the top. They had huge ornaments signs, snowshoes and Santa sitting in the tree stand! I thought I took alot of pics of it but some didn't turn out.

 Here we are!
and here's are partners in crime for the day!!!! Good day, good weather, good friends, good pretzels:) let's do it again.............JMF
