I am linking up to the Blogger's quilt festival you can find it here Festival
I have shared this quilt before it was made with my Christmas presents from Jared's and Carrie's families.
Quilted by Kay Becker.
Over the summer I made a bunch of these little bags.
Just because I guess:)
2 aprons for 2 cute little boys:)
I have made lots of aprons but hadn't made any for a long time so it was fun to make some again.
These are Rachel and Ellie's bags.
This was a sampler quilt we made in the quilt guild I belong to. I just made the blocks and left the boarders.
It's on the chair or on the table.
We have 8 buffalo calves this year. That's all for now hope to be back soon. I have no reason for not blogging all summer!!...JMF

Blogger's Quilt Festival!
I am entering this quilt in the Original Design Quilt Category.
I fell in love with the center fabric when I saw it online. When I got it I pulled the other fabrics from my stash to make the blocks. I wanted to highlight the center fabric so just cut a piece of that to surround with the star blocks.
I picked out 4 of the brands in the fabric to applique in the 4 corners of the quilt.
In the middle boarder I even used the scraps from the half square triangles cut from the star blocks.
No scraps were left behind:)
You can find the festival in this link http://amyscreativeside.com/blog/
Go have a look around. Thank you Amy for putting this fun festival together. I love looking at all the quilts and voting for my favorites!.......JMF

Modern quilt for the Bloggers Quilt Festival
This is something new for me a quilt as you go. It was really fun:)
I won the jellyroll so that made it even better.
The pattern is in the book Quilt As-You_Go by Jera Brandvig. I got my on sale at Connecting Threads.
I used the whole jelly roll. The pillow was a wrong cut on one of the blocks!!
I am entering it in the modern quilt category at the Blogger's Quilt Festival
Thanks to Amy we get to see all the beautiful quilts in one place....JMF

Blogger's Quilt Festival........................
First things first A big thank you to Amy at Amy's Creative Side for hosting the Blogger's Quilt Festival!!
This fall I am entering Tatanka the pattern is by JoAnn Hoffman. I bought mine as a kit at the Hill City Mercantile in Hill City South Dakota.
The fabrics in the kit are all gradation light to dark.
The fabric is so cool these buffalo are only 2 pieces 3 with the horn, but looks like lots of different pieces.
This is my light table:) It works, plus the TV is right by!
Got my circle cut. It is 42 inches.
I traced and cut out all the pieces before I ironed anything on.
The people in the tepee are ironed on to the front but looks like they are inside around a fire!!
The inspiration, our own buffalo. I tried it on the orange wall and we didn't like it, so got moved to the brown one. Please take alittle time to visit the festival and voting will open soon so go back and vote for your favorite. I have one more quilt to enter. Then in a week or so I will be celebrating my 4th anniversary of my blog!! There will be prizes:)...............JMF

Blogger's Quilt Festival.........
A BIG thanks goes out to Amy at Amy's Creative side for hosting the Blogger's quilt festival. There are several quilt categories you can check out and vote for your favorite quilt This year I am entering the Christmas tree skirt I made for my DIL.
I don't remember what month I started it, but I know I finished on Dec 25th!!! Not last minute I had a few days to go!
I did know how many sheep, but not sure anymore around 20.
The sheep were fun to pick out fabric for. I tried to make them all alittle different.
No purebred sheep here!!
I quilted it with my Good Housekeeper (the brand) sewing machine. It is 42 years old and the only good housekeeper in the house:)
Close up of some of the sheep and the different prints I used.
All the appliques are ironed on with a light fusible and button hole stitched by hand while watching TV!!!
The name of the book is Adoration Quilts by Rachel W. N. Brown. I bought it in 2006 and this is the first and only thing I have made out of it.
I will enter it in the applique quilt category if you want to vote for it:) You can find it hereBlogger's Quilt Festival The quick links to each category are listed are listed right before the sign for the festival. I am in the applique category.
or click on the sign at the right of this post.
These are a few of the other quilts, pillows, bibs, totes, aprons, ect I have made over the last year or so.
My other hobby is taking pictures of our animals!
Thanks so much for visiting and hope to see you again.........................JMF
