Moving cows and calves to pasture......

Now it's time to move out to pastures, so they get some shots and away they go!
If only it was that easy!
It looks like these 2 are having fun!!?? I just delivered their breakfast sandwiches.

This is a new pattern I found on Pintrest. It's easy and uses lots of scraps.
Lay your center piece on a muslin rectangle and then sew and flip.

 Trim the edges.

We lost my husband's brother a year ago he was way to young. A gal made these Teddy bears out of his shirts.  Ours is on the mantel. It's been a year and it just seems like yesterday. Love you and miss you.
I did get some birds to come and eat last summer.

Everyone including the cows and calves were glad when April was over

April is calving for us and what a job that was with rain snow and more rain! Late night checking to save calves, early mornings, and long days.
We had wind breaks to protect what we could, and a small barn to put them in until they warmed up and nursed mom. It filled up fast tho! That's enough of those memories.
Finally some nice weather and calving got better thank the Lord. The guys work so hard to make sure every cow and calf  is fed, watered and anything else they need.
When it warms up they soak in the sun and nap between feedings.
All the calves get a matching tag with it's mom number and the date born.
Last but certainly not least  is the quilt I made for Dustin. A good friend of Jared's since school and a veteran. I enjoyed making this quilt for him. I told him please use it and wear it out:) On the two sides I used all the little scraps cut from the star tips to make the little squares............JMF

Going back to where I left off.

It's been March since I have posted!! Still trying to use up fabric that I have for a long time.
I still miss our German Shepherd Bo he looked just like this one.
I had these 2 panels for a while so I made these 2 quilts and gave them away. Now they are on the west coast hopefully being loved by some little grand kids!
He had plenty of snow and rain this spring so therefore plenty of water

Lucas still had some chickens and rabbits so every once in a while I walk down and check them out.

Baby rabbits:) He has a warm place for them in the winter and outside pens in the summer.
See you later...……………….JMF

Second name I drew out of the hat!

I drew Sarah's name so here is her Peacock quilt I made for her Christmas present. I started it with a peacock panel and a picture of a quilt I found online.
Oh and don't forget the peacock feather fabric:) Kay quilted it. When I was at Sarah's one day I said "where's the quilt it should be on the floor or a chair" I made them to be used and they are it was on the bed. How can I make more if they don't wear them out??....JMF

Quilts for Christmas

I made this quilt for my daughter for Christmas.
I found it on Pintrest one day and thought it was a good way to use scraps. The only thing is I could make several more!
It was fun to make and wasn't hard at all just sewing strips  and then lay another one on and sew. I wish I would have kept track of how many hours I sewed. I never got sick of it because it was fun seeing how each block turned out and watching it come to life on the design wall...........JMF
