Fall is over:(

I was loving the long fall with warm days and long walks then the wet, cold, snow and wind came.
I went into hibernation!!!
Last month's full moon was so pretty!
When Greg was busy or hunting I walked through the calves checking for sick or stuck or any number of things. I only found one calf with it's head stuck in the fence but he got out just as I called Jared. I guess I panicked he wasn't really stuck just thought the grass on the other side was greener!

They like to follow and sometimes I had to tell the girls to back off! They would get a little to close for comfort.
Lucas and I went with Greg one afternoon to the hunting shack. We saw alot of deer but nothing he wanted to shoot. That's how his whole season went:) He did help our local Game Warden load the deer he shot tho. Greg asked him "Should I know you?"  I guess it's a good thing when you don't know the game warden!! We do know him he just didn't recognize him in his hunting clothes!
This little buck hung around for awhile so Lucas was taking pictures of him.

Something I am working on for a Christmas gift
Will show it when it's finished........................JMF

Stock show 2015..........

We went out to Rapid City for the Stock Show. It was so warm out there, barely needed a coat!!
I never get tired of the scenery out there. This is on the way to our friend's house by Deadwood.
When we got there we visited and then went out to lunch. We parted ways after that the men went to Lead and up by Terry Peak to a mine. They had a look out point so you could stop and watch them at work. Very interesting to the guys:)

We had a better and more fun destination.....Quilt shops:) First we went into Sturgis to the one there. It is in a house and she has lots of fabrics I got some western (of course) and some modern floral.
Next stop was Spearfish and they have a great quilt shop. Of course Paula and one of the gals that works there knew lots of people in common!! That is almost always the case when we are with Gary and Paula. I guess we are just hermits we hardly ever run into anyone we know when we are away from Howard:)  I think next time I will find someone to pay to come up to us and act like we are long lost friends!!!
We went to the rodeo on Wed night and it was very good all the top 10 in each event. Almost everyone scored and 1st place changed quite a few times.
Thurs night we went to the show Black or White with Kevin Costner. It was very good.
The deer are in Gary and Paula's back yard.
Working on some things to donate to a fund raiser. This pillow and the bag below filled with books.

Books inside for all ages.......................JMF

4 Year Blog Anniversary!!!

When I think back on the last four years and what I have posted on my blog this is what I come up with:) The same old thing quilts, deer, and cows I will save the birds and squirrels for another post!!
I sure like my design wall this is my second quilt as you go quilt in progress.
I saw this girl sneaking through the trees behind the house the other day.
I won this fabric I think it will make a cute baby quilt.
Our weather has gone from a nice fall day to cold and snow far to soon.
These cows are thinking he just let us out and drove away..........
So they ran across the field to catch up with him.
Only to have to go back the way they came.
Going home after a summer of green grass.
It always takes them a moment to get across the highway.
Another detour into the corn field. We got them out and down the road again.
Now they are in the right corn field.
I think the snow is here for while.
I have been finishing up some quilts that have been just tops for awhile like 6 years for some.
I love these prints but it doesn't look like I wanted it too.

This is such an easy and fast quilt to make.
 I love my western fabric:)
Here is my cotton and steel fabric all made up!! I love the arrows.
I did lots of different quilting on this one as it is the quilt as you go.

I have started rounding up stuff for the give away in honor of my 4 year blog anniversary.
From crafts to fabrics, books, and you never know what will end up in the box by Nov 26th when I draw a lucky winner. Just leave a comment to be in the running. Be sure I have a way to get ahold of you. Good luck and thanks for visiting.......................JMF

Sehe she's me in the office, how so they do that.......................JMF

Backyard wildlife and more...........

Coyote caught on the game cam. Pretty close to the house too.
Kind of a cold dreary to move cows. They were  happy to go tho.:)

They will follow a tractor with silage in the scoop anytime!

Watch you head when you walk by the pickups around here you never know what you will run into. They could fix fences everyday and most days they do.
Sitting waiting for more cows. This time I was on the highway with my flashers on. One time waving a orange neck warmer and they still didn't stop!!!!!!! and hardly slowed down. Never going to do that again at 4:00 on a school day. They must not teach what blinking hazard lights are for in drivers Ed.
This little buck hangs around our place.

He even laid  down in the trees the other day just in back of the house while I was making Carmel rolls the other morning. This batch turned out why I can dump the ingredients in the  bread machine and it turns out but if I mix it up my self they end up in the garbage.

Bread machine dough better one or two?? Yeah I was just at the eye Dr  too!!! They were pretty much the same so no new glasses for me. Get it better one or 2 I guess you had to be there........
That snow is all gone now and that's a good thing:)
The 2 fawns were with him tool
Thanks Rob for helping us with traffic control!!!  They slow down (kind of) for you!
They behaved pretty good.....................JMF
