Scrap a day 3.....

I used alot of my western fabric scraps on this one.
It was another Pinterst pattern. I should have went back and found them again so I could have shared them.
I still could and put them in the next post:)
It was a fast and easy pattern.
My Jade plant is getting so big I don't know how I would ever get it transplanted to a new pot. It's been in that one for years and is probably root bound.
The peacock that lived here for a few weeks and then decided to run away from home:).....JMF..

Fall work..

The fall cows are calving now so I took my camera the other night when we checked for new babies.
The grandsons still have their ponies even tho they are too big to ride them. They don't want to part with them.
These two aren't sure of what to make of Greg he was making noise so they would perk up their ears, but she looks scared to me:)

Good crop of sunflowers in the alleyway.
My newest succulent it has grown alot for the first season.
I love all the different hen and chicks.

This cat has been around for years it's still not a tame one which is fine with me. If I have table scraps I put them out otherwise he hunts mice, which is a good because I don't, I'm scared of them:)
The guys got all the bulls pulled from pasture and brought home. Calves have their first shots so next time they will be weaned and brought home.

Silage is cut, still some hay to haul but all in all plenty of feed for the winter:) As Martha would say "It's a good thing".............JMF

Purse, Pillow and Plants................................

I'm finally getting all the pillows made to go with the quilts I made the grandkids in 2011! This is Lucas' pillow and above is his or Johnny's quilt they both have the same center panel.
I added batting to the panel piece and quilted it, the back is envelope style so you can remove the pillow for washing.
They are all done now just waiting for each one's birthday to give them:)
Sarah wanted a new purse for summer so I tried out this pattern it's hard to see but has 2 pleats in it.
Used the last of the book fabric for the lining. It turned out to small for her billfold so back to the drawing board! I just might keep this one for myself haven't decided yet.
Caught this butterfly on the game cam! I'm going to put it in the back yard and see what lurks around after dark.
Most of my flowers are coming right along in spite of the heat and little to no rain. I water them everyday it seems.

Easter lilies from the church they come back every year.
We interrupt the flower show for the second new and larger purse:) I used some of my buffalo fabric for the lining of this one.
I think this one will be just right. Now I just have to stop myself from making more:)
My spiderweb hen and chicks are spreading like crazy and blooming. Little tiny flowers.
I think I need some kind of  ground cover it make it look more attractive:)

This is a new  one this year and it's name has chocolate in it but can't remember all of it.
 The bigger spiderweb chick.
My old hen and chicks are huge this year, and red tips on the leaves. I think more than other years.
Maybe because he's watching over the plants they are doing better:) ............JMF

Plants and trunk show...............

Greg helped me re pot my aloe and my jade plant the other day. I got the aloe in Texas in Feb of 2007 almost 8 years ago!!!
It was a 2 man job they are both getting so big, it's to handle them alone.
I went to the Brookings guild's salad supper and trunk show. Anita Johnson from MN. showed her quilts. Lots of nice ones I just picked my favorites. The plaid one was made from western shirts of her mom's friend.
She had all colors and types of quilts.

There she is, she made her jacket and showed a couple others she made.
We were sitting off to the side and it was hard to get good pictures.

One of her favorite colors is orange and she had a lot of quilts with orange in them.
The next ones were from the serenity line of fabric and I really liked all of them.
So pretty and lots of work.

That's all for now I have some sewing of my own to get done..............JMF

Pillow, beans and mums................

Happy Birthday Greg! I made him a pillow with heir brand Callies Farms. I love that red background fabric. I got it at the new quilt shop in Hill City Hill City Mercantile.

 Finished up the beans.

When I walked back home the sun was shinning on the mum plant and it was so pretty. Pictures just can't show everything:(

Don't know how the mum pic jumped ahead in line. This is Greg's broken thumb. He can open the little cap to give himself a ultrasound treatment to promote bone growth. Hope it helps.

love mums..................JMF
