Apple picking time!! My tree is wedged in between lilac bushes, and maple trees so there are more apples on the west side than the other sides of the tree.I guess then I don't have to worry about having so many apples to deal with:)
First up apple pie bars. My crust was a mess to roll out but it tasted good.
A little icing and it's done.
Just enough apples and crust left to make a little pie in the cast iron skillet, crumb topping and alittle frosting never hurt.
Clean up in isle 3...............please I make such a mess when I bake.
A call for help and parts. Greg needed some guards and cutter deals (I know that's not what they are called but can't think of the real name:)) Anyhoo away I went with camera in hand. He was cutting some of the calving pasture for hay.
It looks like the grass I paid for last fall!! The grass I bought is called Indian grass but he thought this was blue gamma.
Warm in the winter and shady in the summer! That's my shadow I said I'll stand and be your shade LOL he said it helped! He's the warm one in the winter tho my feet are always cold.
On the way home I made a little detour to take a few pictures.
Now I am sneaking through the corn to take some pictures of these..................
The geese were up on the hill eating alfalfa.
I had taken afew pictures and my camera battery was getting low so I whistled and that perked them up.
More coming to see what's up!
I was getting hot and bothered in the tall corn so out I came and there they went.
See ya later.
2 hummingbirds were flying around trying to get to the feeder and not wanting to share. I finally got one in mid flight................JMF

I witnessed a fight the other day!!
Chicken fight that is......
2 young ones deciding who's the boss:)
Do you think the neighbors will report me for stalking their chickens??
I stood in their yard taking pictures for awhile the other night. No one was home, and I was suppose to be doing chores:) The chickens were trying to roost in the trees, and I was kind of bothering them. They just couldn't settle down, so I left them and got to work.
Feeding a calf cus momma doesn't have enough milk, hopefully it will get better.
I made this skirt for Sarah. She wore it to school today. It looks pretty cute on her if I say so myself!!!!
I was fun to make and try something new. I have started a quilt so will post that before to long I hope!!
It seem to be my job to watch the gate when the buffalo get their silage... here they come.
Started out on a run but soon slowed down. Darn I wanted to get a picture of them running.
Dusty we need a rain.
Their eyes are kind of creepy.
Who can do that??? Who wants to do that???................JMF

I like taking pictures:)
My western mantel with a gift from a friend. You are the peanut to my butter the best to my friend the milk to my cookies! It was from zulily also a note from her thanking me for turning her on to zulily. Not sure if it was a real thank you or a sarcastic thank you:) I framed it and added the ribbon and a felt flower.
I think I take way to many pictures!! This is just one of many sunflowers along a fence.
My That Tree!!
A big tree, I am going to have to get under it and take some pictures up close and personal:)
I watched the gate when Greg went to feed silage to the buffalo the other night. Above his eye is a dragon fly, hundreds of them flying around that night.
2 years worth of calves 2 year old and yearlings.
Trying to keep cool last week what a time for calving.
In case you ever have this problem???? the one where your electric window doesn't work and your window will not go down.
Here is your solution stuff a sweatshirt to prop the door open. no need to clap and give me a standing ovation just passing on the hubby's bright idea:) We have two chore pickup and the window on the passenger side of the other one doesn't go down. To think that a mere 12 miles away there is a place that fixes this kind of thing.
Making hay while the sun shines.
Have any of you heard of the Pioneer Woman, Ree Drumond well this is her apple puff pastry dessert.
Hers looks nothing like the one above which is mine. The juice ran all over, and there was very little puffing going on. The box did say PUFF pastry on it. Ok so it puffed on the corners.... Oh and as you see we ate it . I think Ree would be so proud of my picture too!!!!!
Humming birds are so fun to watch.
Worked a few calves the other day.
Moms said I'll just be over here in the shade when you are done just run over here.
The bull is coming home his work for the year is done. He'll get a long break from the cows!!
Ok do what you have to do and let me out of here.
Today was much better checking the fall calves.
No one panting in the heat.
I love my moss roses. They come back every year but I think they are to thick this year.
Thinning these out.
Who wants some I hate for them to go to waste.................JMF
